In beta for barristers

Brassroll's Exc.

Practice management for barristers: fees, matters, diary and deadlines in one place, kept encrypted on your own computer and working without a connection.

A beta for small-firm solicitors is coming soon.

Today, a matter, its fee notes, the diary and finance (a fictional practice)

What it does today

  • Fees and fee notesRecord time and fees with timers, issue fee notes as tax invoices, apply receipts and keep a double-entry ledger with aged debtors.
  • Matters and contactsMatters with firms, solicitors and clients, file notes, documents and a history of everything on the matter.
  • Diary and deadlinesBookings for each day, and deadlines worked out from a date, with the working shown.
  • CPDActivities by strand and progress through the CPD year.
  • ImportBring matters, invoices and unbilled time across from BarBooks exports.
  • More than one computerKeep a clerk's computer in step by USB drive or a shared folder, encrypted and signed.

Exc. runs on Windows desktops and tablets. More features are being added during the beta.

Confidential by design

Everything is kept in an encrypted vault on your own computer, locked with your password or Windows Hello, and every change is recorded in a tamper-evident log. Nothing is sent to us. Encrypted backups go where you choose.
